2026 ILCA Class Mid-Winters West

ILCA Mid-Winters West at Balboa Yacht Club is a three-day ILCA (Laser) championship regatta held in late March on Newport Harbor and the adjacent ocean, drawing top youth and adult ILCA 4, 6, and 7 sailors from across North America for high‑level racing and ranking points.

Dates:

• Racing is Friday–Sunday, March 20–22, 2026, at Balboa Yacht Club

Schedule:

Wednesday, March 18

• 1200-1700 Earliest opportunity to bring boats to BYC
• 1200-1700 Regatta Check in Open on BYC Flag Deck

Thursday, March 19

• 1000-1700 Venue open for boat drop off and practice
• 1000-1700 Regatta Check in Open on BYC Flag Deck

Friday, March 20

• 0800-0930 Regatta Check in for late arrivals
• 0930 Competitors Meeting
• 1200 First warning signal, subsequent races to follow
• After Racing Heavy appetizers on BYC Flag Deck

Saturday, March 21

• 0930 Competitors Meeting
• 1200 First warning signal, subsequent races to follow
• After Racing Heavy appetizers on the BYC Flag Deck

Sunday, March 22

• 0930 Competitors Meeting
• 1200 First warning signal, subsequent races to follow
• ASAP Awards to follow on BYC Flag Deck
• ASAP after the last race of the day appetizers will be provided
• No warning signal will be made after 1500 hours on the final day of the regatta.

Monday, March 23

• 1700 All boats must be removed from BYC
